Default IMC Bilstein Shock/Strut - Front - Not Available at Advance Auto?

Hello all!

Using coupon codes, cashback, etc I can typically get the lowest price on some parts from AA. But it would appear they only have the "IMC Bilstein Shock/Strut - Rear" listed. Has anyone been able to get the fronts? I e-mailed them about it but they are yet to get back to me.

That link took me to a search results page with a bunch of Monroe shocks.

I usually do my best to purchase parts from suppliers that support my specific needs, like iPd or FCP.

I agree with rspi here. I buy from ipd, eeuroparts.com, or fcpgroton because, even if i pay a little bit more for the parts, I know i'm getting the parts I need.

After reading reviews of the Monroes I would never put them on. AA has the rears but not the fronts. They have coupon codes for $40 off $110. Add on cashback at various shopping websites and you get another 4-8% off. (Discover cards are also at 5% right now but thats anywhere online) Thus a huge savings potential no? IPD just had its black Friday sale which was tempting but I didnt have any money at the time. I think they had 5% off store wide.

The hunt continues! I may just get them from IPD or EP but Im a deal hunter so I cant rest until I know its the lowest price. (Without being fake or stolen. haha)

Thanks again guys!

It's good to look for a deal but if you're spending that much time to save a little I can guarantee you after you've done all the math and finally bought them, someone, somewhere will be ten bucks less.

I got mine from FCP Groton and got Bilstein Touring on both fronts & rears; loved them. The ride wasn't too harsh but had enough stability. The only thing I didn't like them was the centre nut; I used OEM (black with flange) nut.

In the rear I went with the KYBs. Have no complaints with them at all. The KYBs were just too cheap not to buy (on sale and employee discount).

Since you're digging into those areas, you may as well replace all components (rubber bushings, upper spring mounts, washers, mount nuts, stabiliser/swaybar link rods, ball joint, etc...). Unless replaced recently, the front upper spring mounts are known to fail and cause hideous noise as you go over bumps/potholes.

The only components I did not replace were the coil springs, stabiliser & dust covers. See what others think, some components mat be good for life and you may be able to save a few $.

P.S, On certain models, the front lower ball joint is integrated into the lower arm and cannot replace the ball joint alone (my 850 had a replaceable ball joints).

Sorry to bring back an age old thread but is this everything you suggest? (Other than the mentioned ball joints/arms. I recently did those.)

Volvo Suspension Kit Front (850 C70 S70 V70) - Sachs Struts/OEM Mounts VFSK2-S | FCP Euro

Or would you suggest anything else while Im under there.

Thanks!
