Info from knowledgable person
Hi everyone,
Have a few questions as I am making a few mods to my T5.
1) How do I change the discs, is there an instruction guide somewhere (to save me buying a workshop manual!)
2) Is it easy to fit a rear boot spoiler as I have just bought one?
Any help would be great

Hello Steveā¢.
Begin by breaking the wheel nuts loose. Not off just loose.
Support the car on jack stands and remove the wheel nuts. Remove the tire.
You will need to remove the caliper retaining bolts and support the caliperup and out of the way so as not to put stress on the flex line.
Youll notice a guide/retaining pin on the disc, this will need to be removed as well.
You should now be able to remove the disc/rotor.
Make sure that you use brake disc cleaner to get the paw prints off the surface of the disc/rotor.
Installation is the reverse of the above process.
Replace the pads at the same time.
Use the proper tightening and torque process so that the wheel is secured properly. After about 50km check the torque again.
If you have developed a pulsing of any kind in the pedal when braking after you have finished you may have over tightened a lug and this is why a torque wrench is important.

This should help.

The only thing I would add is to note if the old pads have any shims so you can assembel it back correctly, and I would also recommend using anti-squeal/squeek compound on the backs of the pads.
