Question intercooler hose question

my intercooler hose crushes everytime I rev up the motor, I'm trying to replace it with a silicone hose but I dont exactly know the measurements of the hose I need... did any of you guys had an experience with my dilemma and would like to share some tips? thanks

Go with either OEM or snabb silicone hoses.

Which intercooler hose are you referring to; the top or bottom one? I happen to have mine apart right now so i can measure it..

In general, if you're gonna go to silicone hoses, you should really do all of them; that's why we pointed you to the hose kits..

Thanks for the tip erik; another source for silicone hoses.

thanks for the tips, the top one is what I'm looking for, these brands are great but I'm looking for one that fits my budget right now but when I have the money I will convert all the hoses to silicone from FCP

The top intercooler hose on my '96 855T is approx 2.25" X 2.375" IDs or roughly 56 X 61mm and the angle is a bit less than 90 degrees.

thank you! havent been on the forums in awhile but today the hose finally blew and I'm looking for a replacement

Is your's a reverse intercooler setup? I had mine done in stainless steel for $20 and got rid of the awful rubber hose that was there.

Check FCPEURO.com. or you can try calling your local stealer, or in a pinch you can temporarily mend the hose, as I did one time. I removed the hose, degreased it, then wrapped the blow-out with a bicycle innertube that I first spread black RTV on. Then wrapped with some electrical tape. Don't knock it. It worked! I eventually replaced ALL of the induction hoses with stock, not silicone, hoses. Looking back, I wish I had gone with silicone. Good luck. Let us know what you did.

I tried doing the black rtv and the bike tire patch I even wrapped it all up with duct tape but it still blew, the hose was is terrible shape, it was really soft and squishy, I ended up going to my local junkyard and to my surprise I found one still new-ish, it still had the Volvo sticker that wrapped around it that shows the part number and it was still hard. Got it for 5 bucks and when I installed it worked great and it doesn't crush like the old one
