Default Interior Light and Chime Won't Turn Off

I have a 1994 850 and this week all of a sudden the interior courtesy light on the driver side (light located on the floor near break and gas padels) won't turn off. The accompanying chime won't go off while I'm driving (key in ignition).

However, when I turn car off and take the key out the chimming stops but the light stays on. Besides pulling out the light bulb how do I get the annoying light and sound show out of my car?

I've read previous post and I've looked for the door switch and can not find it. Where the hell is it?

I've read about the "RELAY" what is it and where the hell is it?

Please provide me with specific answers before I go insane.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!?????

It might be the drivers door lock. Which is the Latch assembly.
Your car doesn't have a button that gets pushed when the door is closed.

There is a micro switch in the latch assembly that gets pushed when the door is closed.

Being that the floor light stays on that tells me there is a problem in the Latch assembly or the wiring.

In the door jam by the hinges there is a wiring loom where the wires come out the door and go to the body.

Inspect and make sure all is good there.

If all is good then it might be the door latch assembly.

Hunt down the chimer with a flashlight and pointy gasket or ice pick, and give it what it deserves...DEATH

Was this the problem? Was it actually the door latch assembly? I have the same issue with my 1998 S70 GLT. chime stays on while key is in and floor light on driver side will not go out.Can some tell me how to replace the door latch? Can it be down without removing the door panels? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need to remove the door panel to replace it.

I have unplugged the chime and removed both the red light in the driver door and the floor light above the pedals to keep my battery from draining. Will this cause any other problems until I have time to get the latch/lock assembly replaced?

I have never tried but as long as all the lights are off you should be fine.

Default Check your fuses

So my car decided to have a fit today and I had a similar issue to what is previously mentioned. I found the fix for at least my situation and that was a blown fuse #15 which is red with a 10 on it. It controls the central locking, interior lights and a few other things.
