Default iPhone and OBD???

Can I use my iPhone to help monitor 'stuff' on my 95 850 and my '01 S40? I am not techno savvy, so be gentle with descriptions...

not going to work with the 850, it uses an OBD I style system. 95 was when the automotive world made the switch from OBD I, which was done many different ways, to the now standard OBD II port, which is what you'll find in anything post 95. very few 1995 cars (not volvos, a select few companies) even had OBD II. so getting real-time data from your 850 is going to be near impossible, but you shouldn't have any issues with your S40. I can't recommend any connectors, having not used any myself, but that should get you on the right track

Many '95 850's have OBD-II ports, mine does. There are also a lot of '94 850 with it.

My Jan 95 build has an OBD I port under the negine bay, and a strange looking plug under the lighter tray, not too sure if that is an OBD II port though
