Boost gauge now works

under black level on the stock gauge the AM gauge sits at 0. Once you get into white on the stock gauge, the AM one kicks in as well.

I believe the highest it read was 8-9 psi.

AFR had its own harness that plugs into the back (noice!)

I just have to figure out how to do it to the o2 sensor. How many wires and which one is the signal wire (so that I know what to look for)?

yay!

Boost controller should be here Thursday. Whats the max I should set it to?

So the Boost gauge is just boost, not HG/PSI.
The fuel cut is at 15.5psi, so I would go ~13psi.
Oh...It is a huge difference. Your butt dyno will tell you so!

The 850 with some boost adjustment should be a 13-14 second car.
I know that guys with 745T's with 15G turbo swaps, can get into the 13sec.
The 850 weighs about the same, but has more stock power/torque.

Werd!

Hey anyone know the EASIEST way to install my BOV?

I get the hoses diagram you showed me TIP.

Do I need to weld it to the pipe over the top of the engine? Or is there a much more simplified way of doing this.

I don't have access to a welder right now.

You will have to get the flange welded for the BOV to an IC pipe. After the turbo or before the TB, or any where inbetween.
You can wait till you have access to a welder, for the BOV is not needed, unless you blocked of you CBV

I haven't blocked the CBV yet.

I have seen the Forge kits.

Once I get on my feet and if I haven't already installed this BOV.

Where can i get a flange for it, or is that something I'll have to have fabbed up?

Is this the BOV you got? http://www.turboxs.com/uploaded_images/525.pdf
It should have the adapters with it.

I found a guy that can do an aluminum weld for me with the adapters that the BOV came with.

I thought about just going with the Forge kit, but I can't justify nearly $200 just to use a pipe.

Eventually I'll buy a block off plate for it.

Friends and I have plan to start making pieces for the 850's.

Starting will be rear cross braces for the 850 Wagon's, since they seem generally unavailable.

I think I may investigate buying a block off plate and then making our own.

What other kind of parts would ya'll like to see created?

That's the EXACT BOV that I have.

I got mine used for like $35.

It looks like brand new though.

I just didn't get the washers with it, or the allen head (lol). But, I did get those two adapters that snap in to the BOV and can be welded to the upper charge pipe.

So for and update:

MBC is IN...YEAYAH!!

Still messing with tuning

Its set lower than stock right now..only hits about sixish.

I had it pegging at 16 at one point on deep runs.

Tried messing lower, but it would still kick back on hard acceleration.

Fine now, but when I tune it, its going to be awesome!

And TIPSP...you were right. My butt dyno gave me the read out of HELL YEAH!

haha

My friend whom drives an LS1 F-body doesn't believe us that the 850 breaks em loose at 45MPH

These things are freaks.

Yeah! I'll look into finding a 745 locally and take some measurements.

The hard part is that there really aren't a ton of Volvos around here anyway.

Well, ton's of 240's and such.

850's are rare. Very rare.

There are probably four at the junk yards out of probably 20 local yards.

Okay, so all is well with my car still.

Boost is about 10 PSi right now, as I have not had time to play around with the MBC lately.

Now, my next question is: Where do I run the hose from my BOV?

Would it be to a vac line on the front tree?

I need to know soon, as I am having a friend of mine weld the adapter to the charge pipe on top of the engine tonight or tomorrow morning. I am cutting a hole in the pipe tonight.

He can weld aluminum, and the adapter and pipe are both aluminum!

Let me know.

All you need to do is run the line to a port on the intake manifold or to the intake hose before the turbo inlet. I would go to the intake manifold.

I dont think it would make a difference if it was there.

Um i the that the stock CBV shoots the air back into the inlet of the turbo.
