Keyless programing how I did it on my 95 850
I got 2 remotes for my 95 850 and just programmed them.
It was real simple to do.
1. key in ignition
2. turn the key on and off 5 times
3. on the 5th time leave it on
4. press a button on the remote and hold for a second or so.
If you press the remote button a bunch of times it will wipe out programming for old remotes. I think there must be a certain number of codes it can store.

Also to add to that when it goes into program mode the led light on the dash will light and then flash or pause when the remote is programmed.
I am supprised it didn't work for programming but I have heard of this before. There must be certain years and chasis numbers that it doesn't work on.Bit it does work on most.
Where did you getthe remotes at? I would like to get some for my son's 95 850 Turbo. When he bought it, it only came with one key and no remotes.
Did all 850's have an alarm and remote door locks? He does have the red LED light that blinks whenever he locks the door with the key.

All Turbos in 95 came with the security system and remote keyless entry. Ebay will probably be the cheapest place to find the remote. The only challenge is knowing which remote you need to buy. I believe there were two different remotes used that year. I have a 95 Turbo and I have the 'square' remote with two oval buttons arranged horizontally (side by side buttons) which I think is part number 9128927.
They also used 9442981 which more of a rectangular looking remote with the buttons arranged vertically (one on top of the other). I think the best way to figure out which one you need might be to check with the dealer and give them your VIN. Once you know which one you need, then you can pick one up on Ebay.

I'm in the same boat as Psaboic.
I bought my '95 T5 wagon and it only had one key - a standard key.
However, it has a little domed LED unit mounted on top of the dashboard that has, to my knowledge, never done a damned thing.
The firm I bought it off stated the wagon was fitted with an immobiliser.
A red light located amongst the A/C-radio controls does flash constantly.
It makes no difference to this flashing light whether the car is locked or unlocked, however it does go off immediately the car is started.
How do I establish what type of alarm/locking system (remote or not) is fitted to my wagon? [sm=headbang.gif]

The radio light flashing it totally different than the car red light.
If you want to know if your car has an alarm open the drivers window and lock the car. Wait about 2 minutes and reach in and pull the hood release and see if the alarm goes off.

As far as the lights on top of you A/C switch, is your A/C working? is the fan working? Does the heat work? I'm assuming you have the ECC (electronic climate control). If you answered YES to those questions and everything works, then I believe it's coding theres an error with your interior temp sensor. Sitting inside either the front driver or passenger seat and you look up behind the handle bars, you'll find a little hole there. Inside there's a stepper motor that blows air to a sensor and that signals the ECC. Sometimes it gets dirty/clogged or the sensor breaks, you'll the get the lights flashing on the ECC everytime you turn on your car. Now since you say it only happens every so often, I think we can assume the sensor is dirty. What you can do is, take an air can and lightly blow in the small hole. That should clear it up. Just don't poke anything in there because the sensor is a wire coiled up and is extremely fragile.
Hope that helps.

I just picked off code # 4-1-7 passenger side interior temperature inlet fan siezed, would you think that may be the stepper motor you speak of? where exactly is this sensor/motor? I can't really tell in your descriiption, i do not know which handle you speak of!
Thanks

I'll get pics if you need it as I have two spare ones around. Hope this helps.
Does anyone know how to get your remote working without a back to it? I just need the back circle thing that holds the batteries in. Anyone know where I can get one without spending a lot of money?
