Left rear door can't open

Left rear door can't open
A passenger attempted to unlock the rear door by pulling up on the door lock pin. Now when the door does not open and the pin jumps up and down quickly when you turn the key. How can I possibly access the internal mechanisms with a door that can't open and the access screws are located at the bottom of the door?
