Smile Bought a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo - New to forum

Took a trip to Chicago to buy this 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo. Bought it for $2,000 from the second owner, who had it for over 12 years. Checked the OBDI blinker mileage and it came up 190,393. PCV makes vacuum at the oil cap pretty nicely. Runs great. Gave it some 5w and Lucas, made the motor quieter, and eliminated the lifter tick at startup. at 3,500 ill do 10w, soon.

Installed a Pioneer with Bluetooth and all that, tweaked the color to match the rest of the cluster. Since its been warm I painted the grille and roof trim flat black, remounted the front undertray and mudflap. Found a set of Volans and installed those on 215/45/17 tires.

Upcoming fixes include the passenger side headlight wiper, broken odo gear, timing belt has 35k on it, needs some tierod/balljoint loving from this winter's potholes, and a BCV.

Mods will be a MBC with a bypass solenoid using a modified TRACS switch made to say RACE, boost gauge with the a-pillar mount from IPD, maybe a swaybar with the front susp work?

Im considering an ARD Green ECU flash, and this Kinugawa billet adjustable BOV that mounts on the turbo in place of the factory CBV

Thoughts on the BOV and ARD ECU?

Thanks so much for all the valuable information, and a special thanks to RSpi for the informative videos!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Are you selling the car or just the Volans? I was going to say "nice grab on the Volans".

Can't help you with tune suggestions. I'm a "keeping it on the road" kinda guy. LOL

I'd say, looking at your signature!

Looking to keep things simple. Perhaps refreshing rubber to silicone, a cpu that will give 13-14 psi in a good way, sway bar, fresh sus parts, basics, maybe if the turbo goes ill look for a good 16t with downpipe or something. Low budget!

I did, I wrote it :-)

First of all, if you are going to do anything to the turbo to go faster you need to eliminate the fuel cut off that will shut your engine down when you hit 15psi. I believe the green tune does that. I have one in my wifes car, works great. After that is removed you can put a MBC in place and go higher on the boost.
