Default lifter tick fixed

so usually im not a fan of engine additives and such. but the loud constant lifter tick started getting to me (i like my cars to sound good). so not that the tick was doing any harm, it was just a sound.

long story short 2 says ago i picked my self up a can of restore and dumped it on in. hasnt ticked sense. so for what its worth, go spend the $7 and get rid of the tick, this stuff really works.

Nice, I'm going to do an oil change this weekend so I can add that stuff. Got a can sitting in my trunk right now. Going to do a compression test as well before I dump it in, and then I'm going to do one sometime after the meet, see if there's a before and after change.

Isnt that stuff 'Tar in a Can'? Extremely thick oil that fills in the gaps? May have fixed the tick but be careful as it wont flow through your oil system very well.

I don't like that sound either. Used restore and feel better since.

Changed my oil yesterday and added some Restore. My car runs a lot quieter now. I like it berry much.

The lifter noise is probably do to air-raided ( not sure about spelling) in the oil. This is more than likely due to leaking oil pick-up tube seals.

Rislone was what used to do the trick. Most times a lifter starts making noise is because the passages in the lifter are 'clogged'. Next time you hear a lifter 'ticking', try a bottle of Rislone oil treatment.

r.
