Default Lights remain on on instrument cluster

Hi,
This issue first occurred about three months ago and I changed the ignition switch. It has now returned.Any suggestions as to the root cause?

are you referring to the warning lights or the instrument back lights? are you saying the warning lights stay on when you remove the key or stay on after starting (ie not leaving the test mode)? Here's a thread to read on Matthew's that may help

Has there been any other recent work - ie on the alternator or in the dash?

The only recent work done was the changing of the turbo charger

Yesterday, I changed the alternator(a used but good one) as I was told that the diodes were going bad.No change. I then switched the ignition switch with a buddy's and the say thing. I put back in my ignition switch and now my SRS light is flashing. It was always on prior to this last bit of work done. Now its flashing when I drive and it stays on when I stop

I'm pretty sure the SRS light has nothing to do with the cluster lights. My guess on the cluster lights would be a bad head light switch.

As for the SRS LIGHT, you need to get that read by a professional unless you have a '95 or older car.
