locking fuel door, how to adjust ?
The fuel door on my 1995 850 turbo wagon does not always open. I presume the solenoid activated pin needs adjustment; how do I do it?
And where is the manual release (on the wire pull cord) hidden? None of the panel trim in that area wants to come off when I try to remove it.

There is a wire to pull inside. I cant speak for a sedan but the wagon has it in the passenger tail light. There isnt an adjustment, your really after an alignment. The pin moves in and out. Your adjustment will be to bend the tab on the door so the pin can make its way in and out without contact.
I am unable to easily pop off the trim to expose the pull cord. How do I do it?
I think the pin is not moving freely. Its not a matter of adjusting the tab. I need to expose the solenoid and either clean it or adjust its position or adjust the position of the pin within the mechanism.

Ya, sounds like you have it pegged.
I am assuming you own a wagon. The tail light trim comes off after removing the side flat panel. Raise your spare tire or rear seat covers then lift up on the trim piece right next to the spare cover. It feels like it wont go but it will It pops straight up. You can use a pry tool if needed but you should be able to get it by hand. Once out there is a twist fastener at the bottom of the light trim. 1/4 turn and its released then you can remove the light cover to expose your door cable.
