Volvo 850 Made from 1993 to 1997, this Volvo line was available in both a wagon and a sedan, both with were graced with several trim levels.

Looking at buying a pretty tuned 850. What am I getting into?

Default Looking at buying a pretty tuned 850. What am I getting into?

Basic info:

I have 2600$ on hand, this will be my first car I buy with my own cash (age 23). New city, unfamiliar with snowy conditions here (Montreal).

I have never driven stick so I will be learning with this car if I get it.

Volvo 850 Turbo Manual Rare - West Island Cars For Sale - Kijiji West Island Canada.

Owner also said he changed the timing belt/water pump/tensioner 2 years ago. Radiator changed last winter with 2 hoses.

I have somewhat of a limited maintenance/gas/repair budget and was hoping to get some input into how much I am going to have to invest to keep this baby on the road if I go for it.

Thanks

If you do not do your own maintenance and repairs, stay far away from old FWD Volvo's.

I agree with the others and if you are learning to drive a manual shift I would suggest renting a stick shift to learn on for a few days or you will be doing your first clutch job.
