Default loud noise while driving

So today while driving I started hearing a loud clunk, clunk, clunk sound as I drove. the faster I drove the louder it got. I had to drive no faster than 30 miles an hour. when I got home I checked and nothing was rubbing. All the suspension parts looked good. When I lifted car and held the tire at 3 and 9 oclock there was some play. Could this be a bad wheel hub. Any suggestions.

If it broke trying to take it out the threads are messed up I would replace the hub.
If you get a used one once it is loose spin it by hand to make sure it is smooth. If it feels rough it will make noise and it is no good.
