My01 S40 has plenty of miles on it, about 172K. Startedhearing a rattle like noise that seems to come right under the gas peddle. It's been getting progessively worse over the last few months. I've checked under the car and nothing seems lose. Although the exhaust system seems to have more move in it than it should...how often should those rubberized attachements be changed?

I hope it' not a transmission issue. Any thoughts??
