Hi guys, new here, im planning to do a manual swap on my 97 volvo 850 t5 wagon, but that wont be for a while and in the mean time i need a throttle cable, (mine doesn't kick down anymore and is cracked in a couple spots) im just wondering if a manual thottle cable will work instead of just putting another auto one with a kickdown switch again, which i would have to switch out down the road. I've searched alot and cant find anyone who has tried this.... any info would be very helpful

 

I switched to a manual cable but did it when I switched to a manual. I dont know if it will throw a code or not if you have it unplugged.

How long till you plan on switching to a manual? You could just unplug it now and see how it runs. If your ok with it and the car is ok with it put in a manual cable.

 

thanks for the idea, it seems to run fine without any throttle cable even in the vehicle so i think ill try a manual cable and see how it goes, nice car btw i hope to make mine into a beast like that
