Throttle Cable Problem

Throttle Cable Problem
Ever since I got my car back from the shop for the cleaning of the PCV IAC and throttle body I have had this issue with the throttle.
The throttle housing that the cable connects to has a ball socket on it that connects to another ball socket on a bracket next to the block. The ***** are connected with a mini sized ball and socket strut type thing.. just like a super mini trunk strut.
My problem is the other day the lower socket came off the ball and caused my throttle to cut out completely. I reattached and got it again the next day leaving work. Happened again today. Would my shop just be able to order that part if the sockets are worn out? There is this overall issue with the throttle it always seems tight and not linear. I'll hit the gas to a certain point its fine then it gets tight and I push harder and then it shifts down and revs up higher like its sticking.
Any help
Thanks
