Misfire on cylinder 1 and 5... help!
Hi... I have a 94 volvo 850 turbo wagon... the check engine light is on and I checked the codes and i got 2-3-2, 5-4-3, 4-5-5, 5-4-2 and 4-5-1... so misfires on cylinders 1 and 5 and I dont understand what does 'long term fuel mixture too lean or rich at idle' mean. I checked the coil, spark plugs and wires, distributor and everything is fine, i have also used fuel injector cleaner more than 3 times, change oil and filter, checked for leaks... maybe i missed something, i dont know... The problem is that it takes time to start the car, it cranks like for 5 seconds until it starts, sometimes it starts faster when I accelerate the car, but if I turn off the car and start it again immediately it will start very fast, but not when i leave if for a while. The car runs really slow when I go from 0 to 30 MPH, but then it runs fine, it is still fast... so i dont know what can be the problem, maybe a gasket? or something else? any ideas please?

Check for vaccuum leaks and see if the MAF sensor that is mounted on the air filter box is working. Just unplug it while the car is idling and see if that makes any difference. try to take car for a spin with this sensor unplugged and see if makes any difference. When was the last tuneup done? The cables sometie look OK but develop leks in them and start to misfire under load conditions.

Hello... i checked the MAF sensor and for vacuum leaks and it is OK... I disconected the MAF sensor and took the car for a spin and it didnt work well, I suppose thats a sign that it is working well...
I got a fuel pressure regulator on the junkyard but it didnt fit my car, and when i put the rail again i didnt notice that i left a leak there, one of the o-rings was torn, but the car was starting fast when it was leaking, but now i got it fixed and it is still cranking for a long tmie before starting.... so i suposse it is my fuel pressure regulator, but they dont have it on autozone or advance auto parts... do u know where can i get it? or if a fuel pressure regulator of another car can fit mine? i dont wanna spend a lot of money on this car, it already has 203xxx miles on it, i bought new front struts this weekend and i also need to replace the cv joints and i dont know how long the car is gonna last so i prefer not spending a lot of money on it... any ideas about it?

Thanks for answering... Just to be sure that my problem is the fuel presure regulator: is there any way to know for sure that it is the fuel pressure regulator if i dont have a pressure gauge to measure the pressure? the car cranks and cranks until it starts when it has been stopped for a while, when i start it just after i have turned it off, it will start immediately.

you might want to check your spark plugs.
I had a similar issue and found that the local part stores will sell you, what they call, pre gapped spark plugs but they're nothing of the sort. I don't have something to gap the plugs so I bought pre gapped plugs from both advance auto, auto zone, and fcp. Advance Auto and Auto Zone were twice the spacing of FCPs and FCP gapped theirs correctly. after installing the FCP plugs (bosch platinums).
