remove thermostat -ohh dear there wasnt one installed
removed and inspected turbocharger for damage and /or wear
removed exhaust head
removed fuel rail and inspected and cleaned injectors
removed melted spark plug wires and plugs
removed distributor/ rotor and rear seal
removed intake inspected for damage
removed oil pan to inspect cam bearings -no damage seen no metal in pan :-)
removed pcv and all lines connecting- blocked and badly damaged
removed valve cover
removed and inspected tappets
cleaned and oiled tappets
removed upper cam seat
removed 12 head bolts
inspected main bearings---no damage
removed head
inspected front and rear oil seals on intake and exhaust cams
removed all traces of old gaskets from head and valve cover
removed old gasket material from head and from valve cover
cleaned oil pan and sump- installed new gasket
cleaned piston head surfaces
cleaned and polished gasket mating surfaces
cleaned intake and exhaust valve areas
de- carbonized exhaust manifold and exhaust ports and valves
cleaned oil passages and checked for blockages and repaired them
cleaned and degreased engine head
cleaned turbocharger
install thermostat
replaced all injector seals (TO DO)done
installed new pcv and all lines for pcv (TO DO)done
replaced oil and coolant lines (TO DO)done
replaced front and rear oil seals (TO DO)done
replaced head gasket (TO DO)done
replaced head bolt with new ones (TO DO)done
re-installed head to torque specifications (TO DO)done - 2wice!!! arggghh
re-installed lifters (TO DO)done
re-installed intake and exhaust cams and new seals(TO DO)done
re-installed turbocharger/new bearings (TO DO)done
re-installed exhaust manifold to torque specifications (TO DO)done
re-attached exhaust to turbocharger (TO DO)done
replaced melted spark plug wires and plugs (TO DO)finally done
replaced rotor and distributor (TO DO)done
installed new timing belt (to do)done
all thats left is delivery of timing belt tensioner
i didnt replace timing belt pulleys or water pump because they were dated 2008 its written on the front of pump and it was very bright compared to other engine parts
im so close to turning her over for the first time - itll basically be like havin a new engine
im so happeeeee i could fart!!
