Does this mean anything? I know gas has sulphur in it but I was just wondering if it could be an indicator of something serious

That is a classic sign of failing catalytic converter. Have it checked but I believe you would have to replace it.

They are quite expensive so you may want to look for a used cat.

Before spending a hefty price on a new/used cat, inspect the exhaust for leaks, between the exhaust manifold & the cat.

Often, the cat gets damaged by being fed with raw fuel. Some people rev up the engine right before shutting it down (why they do this is beyond my knowledge), which is one of the worst things one can do to the cat.

Could also be a bad O2 sensor or stuck open injectors making the car run way to rich causing the smell as well.

Most likely the CAT or the O2 sensors as mentioned. Any check engine light or codes??

No check engine light on.However, i'm hearing a noise similar to when there isn't oil in the lifters
