Default My heater doesn't get that hot

I drove my 850 for 4 hours straight the other day and the heater still doesnt get that hot. I have to leave it on the hottest setting just to keep my "warm". It never gets hot enough to to turn down the temp.

The coolant gauge sits in the middle the entire time. It never runs cool and it never runs hot.

Any ideas
Thanks

The heater core gets the same amount of liquid the engine gets...the temperature is controlled by the amount of the passing hot air that is allowed into the cabin. The core could be blocked but your not going to know unless you get down on the drivers side by the throttle and check the temps of the lines going in and out.

Also, have you replaced the thermostat? I have a Chevy truck that I replaced the thermo in but I dropped the temp to a cooler thermo. Now my heater is weak when it comes to heat.

Check to see if the lines are hot to the touch. If there not, you could have a clog. Make sure the blower fan is off when you do this test because it will cool down the outgoing line if it is on. Both lines should feel around the same temperature.

Also, this make seem like a dumb question, but how is your coolant?

My coolant level is great, that was first thing I checked. I will check the lines, they are by the gas pedal?

Its quite simple.

To check it you only need to get to the drivers side. To removed it you need to get to both.

Pull the under dash trim (made that name up)
Pull the carpet back by the gas pedal...walla...there it is.

Lets hope it is not the heater core. That is not something I would want to be working on in the cold.
