Yeah pictures would be extremely helpful. I'm really interested on how you attached the Clutch pedal to the inside of the car and how you attached it to the trany. Also on how the shifter is connected to the trany and to the car. I've got a 99 V70. Can't wait for the pictures.

I'm thinking about taking the plung and doing a manual swap on my wagon. I'm currently looking for a donor car and was wondering which cars would be best and which cars would work? From what I have read it doesn't sound like it would be cost effective to just order all the parts needed from suppliers and the stealer.

You will need a 94 or 95 manual car.

Tech,

Did you ever get your cruise control working after the swap? I have only found one post on the issue about cutting a green wire somewhere. The directions were not clear. Do you know anymore about it?

Edit: Found it (http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showpo...59&postcount=1)

Well, I am not in position to do this so I backed out for now. Picked up an auto trans for $100 and found a Volvo mechanic to install it for $400. Couldn't beat that. The trany was an exact swap model.

Boxpin I did not get mine working. The clutch release switch broke while doing the swap and I have not gotten a new one yet. I do not do many long trips at all. One day I am going to get in there and fix it all.

Did you ever get the cruise working? Also pictures?

I was wondering which transmission I should get to swap my 1998 c70 ht to a 5 speed? would the earlier 850 boxes work? If so what other wiring mods need to be done? Or do I have to get a 1998 trans?

@Tech, Sorry, I never saw this response.

I had to grind a prong off a relay to get it to work. You do not need an additional vacuum switch on the clutch arm, only need the vacuum switch on the brake. In reality you could move the switch to the clutch arm if you wish, you just need to know where it is. To add a vacuum switch to the clutch and brake arms you just need a vacuum splitter...which should be on the donor car.

FYI If you have the flywheel resurfaced you can also get an R clutch and use that. I would recommend the R clutch.
