IS MY TURBO SHOT?

RE: IS MY TURBO SHOT?
There is something I donĀ“t understand. Why would a turbo with some play generate that much smoke when idling. IsnĀ“t it barely spinning when you idle? IĀ“ve never seen the internals of a turbo. Can somebody explain where the smoke comes from?
If this started after you did the partial tune up, triple check the spark plugs and that the wires were reseated in the correct plug.
Why donĀ“t you go ahead and change the wires, cap and rotor too. It should cost more than $120 or so, IIRC.
Did any codes reappear lately?

RE: IS MY TURBO SHOT?
The only thing that can cause so much smoke (bluish) due to a faulty turbocharger, during idle, is somehow oil is entering the compressor side of the turbocharger and entering the combustion chamber. This is probably due to a failed oil seal. I would disconnect the compressor ductings to see if the is a sign of oil in the induction side.
