Have you tried tapping on the top of the pump while some tries to start it...

Sounds like either fuel pump or pump relay..

not fuel pump or relay....im getting great fuel pressure. Plyus I sprayed starting fluid in it and nothing changed, so it's not a fuel issue.

Likely no spark but best to pull the coil wire and check.

Fuel good, air is fine, compression is good, but don't have tools to check spark. It ALMOST starts, but won't quite get there. And no i haven't messed with battery.

Did you check compression? How do you know that compression is good?

As for spark, pull a plug, connect it to the wire, try to start the car and watch it while it's cranking to see if the plug sparks.

E3, about 16 months old. I think they got fuel soaked when i was trying to start the car...and changing the cps and coil fixed my lack of spark, but by then i had fouled the plugs beyond hope.

dont say not a fuel issue too fast.
For the fun of it, take out the fuel pump relay bring it in the house let it warm up completely, put it back in the car, and give it a shot.

If not its a cam sensor, crank sensor, ignition coil, cap/rotor, im sure its one of those.

Matt: thanks for the input, but 1) problem is solved 2) fuel pump relays was the first thing i swapped, since i have 5 or 6 laying around here. 3) my garage is heated.
