Chances are on a car that old with that much damage it will be a total wreck. You should be able to find a replacement though for what the insurance gives you. Thank goodness your wife is fine, that's the most imortant thing. Volvo's are safe, that's the reason I bought my first one. Cars are easy to replace.

Interestingly JIm, the new Volvo's are not getting the insurance institute safety ratings as they used to. In fact, they are way down on the lists and the Japanese autos are receiving the kudos.

A lot of that is due to the influence of Ford on Volvo processes. Ugh. - AB

Not really. Ford has put very little input into the Volvo. Volvo does not use Ford derived parts such as Mazda does. What has occured is that Ford is using the technology of Volvo in the Ford product. For instance, the Ford 500 is based on the underpinnings of the Vovo SUV. Now, the new 40 series Volvo is predicated on the chassis of the Mazda 3 although Volvo modified it intensivly. But so far, we do not see much in the way of Ford influence to include styling in the Volvo product..............Thank God!

That car is fixable, but I doubt insurance will want to pay to have it fixed, but they might. Depends on the value of the car versus the cost of repair. Looks like it could be close. You should go onto kbb.com and see what the car is worth. Since you live in Florida and tech lives in Florida, maybe you could him to fix it. I bet he could fix it for whatever the insurance company is willing to give you for the car.

Get on the C70 board and do some reading. I was looking to buy one and changed my mind after test driving one and reading comments on that board. They are great looking cars and have a fantastic stereo system, but they have lots of little quirks and just don't seem to be made as well as most Volvo's.

Upgrade your factory intercooler...

Here is the url link to the Euro Sport Tuning factory-style intercoolers.

With a little creativity, install a top-to-bottom style front mounted intercooler...
