Default Mysterious Squeal/grinding noise

So I have developed a noise in the left front wheel that almost sounds like a dust shield but I have bent that back a little already so that definitely isn't the issue. It only happens in a left turn, regardless of speed. There is also a slight noise, almost a grind but more like a whir, that's audible between 10 and 25 mph. I checked the bearing and it doesn't seem like that's the issue. The car doesn't pull and the wheel spins freely on stands. I know both my axles are bad but that isn't the issue either. I'm at a loss.

I have not experienced a bad unitized wheel bearing on a volvo, but on other cars, I have always found that they get noisy long before you can detect any sloppiness. I would diagnose that as a noisy wheel bearing based on your description.

That's what I was afraid of. I want a second opinion because they aren't exactly the cheapest thing to replace. I'm looking at another $250 to replace the bearings and axles(since I'm already in there.)

Why so much? You can get an OEM bearing for $100 and rebuild the axles for $20 each if they are not toast.

Totally sounds like a wheel bearing....you cannot check them they are sealed and can feel fine when you turn them. It will be a grinding whirling noise. What your describing is just that.

The axles are done. No rebuilding them, or I would.
