My friends parents have one for sale. Mileage is a little high at 140k, but it's mostly highway miles. Price might be around $4000, which is below blue book. I haven't seen the car yet, but my friend tells me the transmission doesn't seem as perky as it used to be. Is that something to be wary of? What's the failure rates? What are some other things to look out for/be aware of? I know is no T5-R, but is this a good year for the 850?

 

1996 and 1997 were the best years for the 850.The transmissions are pretty known to go out.The ABS control module and the A/C evaperators go bad alot to.$4000.00 doesn't sound to bad.If you could I would reccomend buying it.
