Baseline data is good, yes?

I was hunting vacuum leaks a while back on my 94 turbo. I noticed a serious problem with the power brakes, because of vacuum leaks.

I was able eventually to get a stable idle at about 15 to 16 inches of mercury and that seems "right".

That translates into about 7.4 psi. So at idle, on my car at least, I should be looking at 36 psig fuel pressure at idle. I am basing that on the vacuum, rather than on a direct fuel pressure measurement.

Would be interesting to see others experience on "best" idle vacuum and fuel pressure.

At idle you should see around 43 psi with the stock regulator no matter what pump you put in. If you blip the throttle you should see the pressure rise a bit if the regulator and the vacuum line leading to it are good. Or you can take the vacuum line off you should see a higher pressure. I don't know off hand what it rises to but it isn't that much.

My car holds at @ 20 at idle consistently measure with a boost vacuum gauge at the vacuum tree. The last time I measured the fuel pressure I was getting 38 psi. I found an issue in the pump housing and Im replacing the entire assembly and the supply line up to the fuel filter qnd retesting.
