Default New to the Forum, Have a couple questions.

Hello to all,
I have been reading and learning from everyones post so thank you for everything so far. Have a couple questions though about my 1996 850 Wagon.

1.
Wondering if it possible to add a spoiler to my standard 850? And where is the best place to get one?

2.
I bought the santech tailgate repair kit and fixed my rear tailgate and closed it and opened it once (not very hard either) and almost all the clips had broken already. Has anyone run into this problem and how did you get around it other than super glue?

3.
What is the largest size tires and wheels you would put on it? I am pretty sure the 850r's are 16.5" wheels correct?

4.
How would I go about finding out if my car has a wireless key reciever? It didnt come with one but I remember reading somewhere that a 96 might have it.

Thank you all so much for helping out!

1.Yes you can look on e-bay and sites like that. I am adding one to the white car in my Sig pic.

2.Sorry to say buy better clips maybe even from dealer. The black ones broke?

3.The 850R wheels are 17's about 215/40/17's are the safest big size tires. Maybe 18's in a compatible size.

4.Does the dash have a red LED in the center by the windsheild? I believe they all have the function.

Fast reply! Sweet.

Yeah the black clips broke. I guess I will call up the dealer and see what they have.
As far as the spoiler, what I think I really want is a wind deflector to blow wind down the rear window to keep it from getting dust and dirt on it. Do you know what specifically that is called and where to get one, will a spoiler do the same thing?

Another couple questions I remembered is is it possible to add the rear facing third row? Or is that something that only comes stock?

And have you ever worked on a rear wiper motor and gearing? Mine works every once in a blue moon and doesnt always go a full swipe.... How hard to replace is that?

You can add the third seat at any time.. it was an option.

I think ipdusa.com that the tailgate spoilers. The let air flow between them and the car but not sure if they keep the window clean.

Yes you can add the 3rd row seat. No the 740 one will not work. You might be able to locate a used setup somewhere.

When you pull the pale out again check all the screws holding the wiper motor in. Make sure they aren't loose.

The motors are a pain to replace.

Thanks for the help!!

I just read your post on fixing the recirc door and fixed mine as well.

I have a few more questions if thats ok.

Are the manual and auto air control units interchanable and same question with the car radio and the in dash cd radio?

You're awesome, thanks again!

No the climate modules cannot be swapped between each other. Just a guess I assume you have the manual and want the auto?

Yes the radios will swap easy. Just remember you will need a radio code for the radio anytime the battery or radio is disconnected.

Glad I could help.

Yeah I wanted the auto. Oh well.

Can the trip computer unit be changed out? All I have right now is the one with just a clock but would like to have DTE, MPG info. Tried searching and never really found a clear answer if it can be done.
Again its a 1996 standard 850 if that makes a difference.

My gas tank only ever holds 16 gallons max, is this normal? I thought I had read that the 850 wagon was a 19 gallon tank but I could be wrong.

Yes you can add a trip computer to your car you need to find the computer, harness and switch. Then it can be swapped in and it will work normally.

The gas sounds about right. Remember unless you totally run out of gas you will have atleast 1 to 2 gallons still in the tank.
