new wiper blades, same issue.
so i thought the blades that were on my 94 850 were just old, so i bought some new rain-x blades. passenger side looks good, driver side is weird.
itll start to wipe the water, but about halfway up, it like 'jumps' and from that point on, it doesnt move any water at all. im guessing there is some sort of build up on the drivers side (maybe sap or something? the car did come from a heavily wooded area here in SA)? the windshield doesnt feel strange, seems rather smooth.
thinking i might have just gotten a bad wiper blade, i switched the passenger side with the drivers.
same thing.
aside from replacing the windshield (something i really dont want to do), what alternatives are there? is it possible to wet sand the drivers side with something like 2000+ grit sanding paper?
since ive dabbled at window tinting, im going to try cleaning it with a razor blade tomorrow and some goo-be-gone cleaning agent. if theres an adhesive (or sap) on it, the goo be gone should break it up enough so i can get it off with a razor blade.
thoughts?

This is how I do it. Remove the wiper arm from the car. Then kind of sit it in the vise with a rag over the jaws. This will protect the arm. Then when looking at it the arm should look almost like being in the car. Push it carefully as though you were trying to bend it closer to the windshield. You will want to bend it closest to where the hole is in the arm. That should fix it. You might have to try a couple of times to get it right.
It is a common problem and there are 50 (or more) threads on this one.
I took different route and used a half-washer method, which eliminated the problem for good.
I took a washer that was about 2mm, cut it in half and installed it between the wiper arm attachment and the holding nut, so the arm was installed at an angle, exerting more pressure on the windshield/screen.
After that, a clear vision prevailed on Earth.....
.
Whatever works for you, and most people bent the arm and their trouble also went away.

I agree with both Tech and JRL. Try bending the wiper arm or shimming it. That is most likely your issue. It definitely would not hurt to try and clean it with a razor blade and some alcohol or GooGone too.
Is the wiper blade attaching to the arm correctly? If the attachment is incorrect, you will experience binding and jumping at times. Its kind of like having a bad hip and your leg flying around when your hip catches...
The main point here is that you should never buy wiper blades just based off length. Since many blades come with universal adapters for up to 98% of wiper arms, you may luck out...yet you may not. Use the application guide or the computer box at the store to look up correct part numbers. Now-a-days you can also look this up online (search "lookup wiper size").
Hope this helps,
Jeff
