My 2008 S40 has recently been having issues with the wipers not clearly the windshield properly.

On the up stroke the driver's side clears properly, but on the down stroke it will leave streak if I'm travel over 40MPH. It clear properly at lower speeds.

The passenger's side has problems on the up and down stroke. On the up and down stroke it leaves a 4 inch by 6 inch area untouched near the bottom of the windshield. Also on the down stroke it leaves streaks above 40MPH.

The blades do not appear to be warped, nor do they have any deformities that I can see. The windshield is in excellent condition.

Anyone else ever have this issue, or have a suggestion on the cause?

I was going to replace the wiper arms, but wanted to find out if there was an easier and cheap fix before spending money on the parts.
