Question No dashboard instruments

Hi there! All my dashboard gauges just went dead on me - - odometer, temp, fuel, rpm, everything....all that is working is the arrow up lamp blinking....what seems to be the problem? I also have a leaking fuel tank, would this be the problem?

First thing, check your fuses, flashing up arrow means the trans has pulled a code, probably because the speedo isnt working. Check your battery too, it may be flat or failing. Also check alternator output, if it is the battery.

If the whole dash went dead it's likely a fuse blew or a connector for the power to the dash came loose.

The flashing arrow would worry me and you should pull the code to see why it's flashing.

No a leaking gas tank will not cause the dashboard to die.

Thanks Kiss and Bricks.

I have replaced the battery but the dash instruments are still all dead. Will check if the alternator is working.

Unfortunately here in the Philippines, we only have one service center for Volvos and their service sucks. Such a good brand of car but without service, everything will break into pieces.

The service center does not have any "reader" to diagnose my car. :-( Am looking for Class B shops that may have mechanics who can look into my 850.
