My gas gauge is not working. I keep hitting the trip odometer everytime I fill up. I've replaced the sending unit, but nothing. What about a new/used gauge pod, and how difficult is that to install? I even thought of getting a gauge pod for the pillar and getting an AutoMeter fuel gauge for there.

 

Removing the cluster is not too difficult. You could replace it or send your original out to a speedometer shop for repair. I don't know of a definitive way to say it's the cluster though. There's a pinned description at the top of the forum on how to remove the cluster.
