OBX exhaust system (improved)..

OBX exhaust system (improved)..
Back in this thread (post #7) I promised kfrog some info about what muffler I was putting on my exhaust system so decided to make a thread for it.
Goal: Free flowing yet quiet exhaust to let the 855T breath. Mostly wanted to get rid of dreaded midrange drone. Got inspiration from boxpin's work in this area; hopefully he'll chime in with his experiences. The stock exhaust is nice and quiet but quite restrictive; esp if you're going to do some mods to push more air.
Seems lots of guys mod their exhaust to make more noise than stock; not my goal at all! Kind of outgrown that and going for the sleeper look anyway. I even got the steely wheels on there; except for the turbo badge on the tailgate, it looks like a N/A going down the road.
Started calling local exhaust shops: only one did mandrel bends, he was way expensive, and he couldn't build the downpipe. I don't weld so I was down to few options. I priced it out and this made the most sense for me; here's my parts list:
I had to drive on the OBX (with the cat installed) for about a month. Definitely free flowing but much too loud IMO! So just got the other mufflers installed this past week. While much better it's not quite as quiet as I had hoped. Mostly concerned about the drone (2k to 3k rpm when pulling a hill); while greatly reduced, it's still there. Maybe i'll add wrap later but we'll see. Didn't notice any difference pwr-wise between the straight OBX and adding the mufflers.
pics to come in next post..

- OBX kit EX11111
- OBD2 3" cat (keeping it smog legal 49 state) magnaflow 99009HM
- Dynomax VT muffler 289-17956
- Magnaflow resonator 642-10416

Here you go; can't tell much from these clips IMO. I mean if i was to just listen to this clip, it sounds almost stock. But it is a bit louder than stock; esp inside the car.
Again, much quieter than original obx system, but i would like to get rid of the drone that's still there when under load in the 2500 rpm range.
Boxpin; what do you think of another resonator between the cat and VT muffler? I've read a few posts that point me in that direction. E.g. this one: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/for...318320#p318320
