Default Odometer busted

Okay, I know that I need to replace the gear(s) inside my odometer to make it work again. I have a replacement cluster from a wrecked 850 and instead of replacing the gear(s) themselves I am thinking of just swapping out the cluster itself. Thing is, MY car has about 260k miles on it and the replacement cluster reads 136k. Is there a relatively easy way for me to roll the replacement odometer by hand (or drill, whatever) to match my mileage?

As to my knowledge, the kind of work you will have to do the roll back is same as what needs to be done to replace that gear(s). Atleast with new ones, you will be sure of some life where as the one from wreckers still will hae the possibility of failing anytime.

Take a pencil or whatever you use to roll it with and place it on a drill and roll it that way! Watch your speed though, but this makes it easier

But the point is that in order to reach this stage where you can roll it manually..you have to dig inside the meter and at that point, isnt it better to replace the gears in your original meter.

Just a suggestion... :P

+1 on that.. If you are going to go thru all that trouble, I would just replace the gear!
