Default Odometer gear -- # teeth and source?

The odometer on the 1995 850 is dead. I am assuming that it is the odeometer gear. Where is a good place to buy one, and how many teeth should it have for this year and model?

Thanks,
John Martin

Might just be easier to buy one from the dealer.
I think it is like $13.00 for the gear.

Thanks.

Talked with the dealer parts department. They had no clue what I was talking about.

I'll find one on the interet somewhere.

I replaced my odometer gear for about 30 bucks. The gear can be ordered from http://www.odometergears.com/. Remove the instrument cluster and then take off the back of the cluster TORX 25 and 8 screw drivers will be needed. If you have a turbo, then disconnect the turbo under the kick panel at the black connector. DO NOT DISCONNECT FROM THE CLUSTER. The directions can be had at www.volvospeed.com. The odometer can be removed and taken apart with replacement of the gear. You will need to roll your odometer forward to get the actual mileage. Best guess; the on board computer has the actual mileage. I used a phillips head electric screw driver to turn the gear. I hope the attached photos are okay.

Good luck..Sal (1996 850 Turbo Wagon)
