Default ofcourse a BOV

got a blow off valve, and now i need to weld it on. Problem is that i cant have my car down while this is being done, solution: to get a new/used upper pipe and have the BOV installed on that. I am wondering if anyone knows a used volvo parts dealer in NY/ CT area. My idea is to get a used pipe, have the BOV installed on that, and in a few hours have(old pipe removed)then bov+ new pipe installed and CBV removed and car back up and running. this part costs about $105, wondering if possibly there could be an unused one somewhere around!! called the "upper intercooler piping" going from the bottom of the intercooler, and twisting twice on the top going to the turbo. any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm pretty sure BOV doesn't work for automatic...

my mechanic was the one who suggested it, as long as the CBV is removed and there is a blow-off attached to the intercooling piping and also the wastegate it can be done. He has done it on another volvo automatic i belive is a 740, and has been done before. I would belive this mechanic because he became a mechanic through volvo, so i belive him!

BOV's work on any turbo cars. (There is a ton of Automatics out there with them)
Some people also leave the CBV connected and run the BOV as well.
Some cars you need to leave both connected or it will run like Crap.

is it better to disconnect the bypass valve and block it, run a blow off from the intercooling??, or leave the bypass valve on and re circulate the air to a different spot? currently i am thinking of blocking it and running the BOV on the top of the piping to the turbo.

Usually you can just unplug the bypass and thats is and run the BOV.

Try that and if you have any running problems try running both.

But I think you will be fine just unplugging the bypass.
