A Oil Pump "ting" noise?
So with 415,000 miles im starting to experience a weird "ting" (tinny ping) sound.
At first I thought it might be a rod knock, when I brought my car to the dealer here in miami so they could order the relays for my heated seat recall, he told me is sounds like my oil pump..... Im not sure, but here are the symptoms.
Start the car and after the idle drops to normal i get a un-uniformed ting sound. I say un-uniformed cause it does not sound the same constant. Sort of like ( hope you get the sound in your head the way im saying it) ting.ting.t-ting......tingt-t-t-ting............ting.ting.ting.ting.....t-t-ting.ting.ting. (the periods are when its silent.
When the rpm's increase it goes away.
It sounds like its coming from the bottom of the motor on the belt side. Around the oil pump, but ive never known the oil pump to make a noise like that. I hope its not the start of a rod knock.
Im going to try to get a sound file and upload it..
But any thoughts would be helpful.

Sounds like something bad is about to happen. I know you have done your best keeping it up, oil changes and all.
If you want to see if it's about to fall over the hill, do something like a seafoam treatment. If it's on the edge, that will probably do it.
I think I know the sound you are talking about. When I had it on a Volvo 17 years ago, it was my lower cam shaft bearing going out. It wasn't 100% consistant and I went and dumped some Slick 50 in it and kept on going.
You don't think it could be any of your timing rollers do you? They usually make noise when cold and go away when the car warms up. When you did the last belt, did you do rollers as well?
