RE: Outside temp gauge
Hello Dave,
Greetings from Chicagoland.
It is normal for the temp gauge to read slightly higher temp than the actual ambient temp. It's because the sensor probe is under the engine compartment, and as the engine warms up, the sensor gets affected by it.
The temp sensor probe should be on driver's side (left), embedded in the mud guard under the front bumper. Mine was actually just "hanging" in the engine compartment. I am planning to relocate this, so it'll read more accurate ambient temp. The sensor probe is shaped like a bulb, I found it by spraying it with a can of duster, holding it upside-down so that the freezing liquid was hitting the sensor. As I watched the temp gauge, the numbers started to drop.
Good luck finding it.
