I have just purchased a 1993 850 that is in incredible shape. I am about to do some work on the paint but have never done work with single stage. Does anyone know anything about the paint used on the 1993 850 used on US production models? Can I treat it like clear coat or do I need to treat it like single stage on am more classic car?

 

Nope regular paint+clear. You can find the paint code on the build plate (I think its on the door jamb but may be on the firewall). Easy enough to find a Duplicolor kit which will include the matching color and clear. I actually have an unused OEM kit in Regency Red #418? (not sure if the cans will still work) but if that's your color, let me know and I'll send it to your way. (got paint, sold car...)
