Painting 940 bumpers

Default Painting 940 bumpers

92 940gl with black bumpers, how can I paint them, also I want to paint the out ring of my grill to match the body( like the 850) plz help...

Go to any auto paint store and buy quality aerosol paint. SEM makes an aerosol called bumper and trim or something like that...it's a very nice satin black. When painting plastic, it's imperative to a. lightly scuff the surface so the paint can "key" into the surface and not flake off b. clean the plastic w/ a gentle solvent (naptha works well) to remove all grease and oil c. spray a foundation coat of Bullfrog adhesion promoter before shooting the top coat. Trust me, if you cheap out on the job it will look like crap in 6 months or less. Every time you go to the car wash paint will fly off. Do it right the first time.

so this is wut i have to do to paint my bumpers the color of the car(silver)

Well, the technique is the same as I described. now that you state that you want the bumpers body color, it brings in an entirely different twist. No one sells aerosol paint that is a good enough match to paint entire bumpers. Even if you had paint mixed up at a paint shop...it would not match the 19 year old faded paint currently on the car. A complete repaint would be the only way to make it look factory.
