Default Performance Questions

I have been reading a little bit about the volvo 850 turbos and I have a few questions.

It seems that the 850-R uses the same motor but a bosch engine management system which makes 240 horsepower. I was wondering is that in the ecu and could I just plug an 850-R ecu into my 850 Turbo?

Also it said something about turbo models only coming automatic but I swear I saw some on craigslist saying 5 speed turbo ?

The last question I have is I have a manual boost controller hooked up to my 850 turbo I am working on getting a boost gauge to set the boost but can I use any universal adjustable fuel pressure regulator on the volvo or no because I plan to increase boost and just up the fuel pressure a little bit because Im def not paying 700 for an ecu upgrade when I paid that for the car lol...

thanks, Nick

Yes you can put the 850R computer in there.

You don't need to up the fuel pressure to run 12 PSI or so. Im running 14 PSI and fuel is good.

You will need a tuned computer then. There is a 15.5 PSI fuel cutoff.
On a really cold day I will hit fuel cutoff sometimes. Thats with it set to 14.

The only way you can run 17 is with a tuned computer.
