Default Performance Upgrades for a non-turbo???

Morning folks.
So, I am wondering what my options are for the wife's non-turbo 97 850. Is there a cone-filter option? What about going to a 3 inch exhaust? Head swap? After-market header or exhaust manifold swap?

Am curious what options I have besides an engine swap or the installation of a turbo.

Thanks in advance folks,
Scott

INstalling a cone filter might get you a little power, as might a 3" exhaust. You arent going to get a lot of power out of that though.

Also, there's nitrous as an option. Put a 50 shot on it or something.

As for adding a turbo: you'd be better off selling the car you have and buying a car that has a turbo than you would be trying to install a turbo on a non-turbo car. compression rations are different, as is all the engine management stuff. It'd cost a fortune to do it and it would be a giant pain in the ***, and for the money you would have in it, you could have gone out and bought two 850 turbos.

Factory NA cars already have a small header but you can always run a larger one, but like idified says you'd be better off with an 850 turbo

You're wasting time and money trying to get more performance out of an NA car. Sell it a buy a turbo if you want performance. Or just enjoy the car for what it is, a nice safe car with a good ride.

Sell the N/A and buy a turbo. You'll spend way more money then the car is worth to get where a stock 850 turbo starts at.
