So lost key and fab, do I need both to start car. Tried getting a key sent but key codes for cut keys do not start till 97 so how do I go about it. Also how many key fabs codes are there and do I need fab to start car or just key. Car is unlocked but battery dead.

 

fab as in the remote fob? that will open the doors and reset the alarm but you just need the metal key to start the car. Check with a volvo dealer to see if they can cut a key from your VIN (I assume you don't have the metal key tag with the number on it)
