Pnp?
I’ve been working my 95 T5-R for a couple of days now. I did the shocks and put in new vapor lines on top of the fuel tank. After not running the car for a few days I had to charge the battery to get it to start. I had the trunk and doors open when I was working on the car so I’m not too concerned about that… yet.
But last night when I started the car to move it out from under a nasty pine tree I put it in reverse instead of just clicking into gear it seemed to click 2 times, while the uparrow on the dash flashed at me twice.
I thought this was odd, so I put it in all the other gears, and the light continued to flash. Then back in park, I put it to drive again, with no flashing light. So I backed it up, and pulled it into its normal parking spot, no problem. Then I let it run for a good 20 minutes to help charge the battery back up. All seemed well.
Once charged I shut it down and tried to start it back up just to check if the battery was holding the charge. Headlights were bright, all interior lights seemed good, but the car wouldn’t crank. I would turn the key, and nothing.
So today I’m looking around online (bay 13 / forums) and it seems that the big thing would be the PNP switch.
Now I haven’t run the codes… but I have a CEL… and I know I need to do this first.
I also haven’t rowed the shift stick, and I want to try that too…
But does what I describe sound anything like PNP?
I’ll get back and post what my codes are… I’m fully expecting a 322 on A1…
Any input is appreciated.

That is the OEM one.
This is an aftermarket one. But I would only use OEM

wow... lots of reply's... and i haven't been on in 2 days...
OK lets see...
Friday i leave work an hour early to get home and use some of the diminishing daylight I'm facing. My only plan was to get the old one out and do a "rebuild". Basicly open her up and put some dielectric grease on everything.
So i take out the bat. airbox, etc until i get to the unit. I take everything off and then realize i had it in park... when i was supposed to have it in neutrual... so i think i screwed it all up. So i try to crack her open and cant get even one screw to come out... I get frustrated and put it all back together.
while im in there i did put a new lower radiator hose, and some new seal kits in on the tranny cooler lines. So there was some use to it all.
Also i throw the battery back on a trickle charger over night too...
The next morning i finish sticking all the charge pipes back together and the airbox and battery. Get in... Turn the key... ("..." add for dramatic effect)
and it starts right up. I put it in every gear and it did what it was supposed to do... i have no flashy up arrow light... and it seems fine...
So basically i did nothing... and it works fine now... (maybe that should say For Now...)
Oh yeah.. i did check the codes and it did throw a 322 when i started all the work. I tried clearing the trouble codes after it was running ok, but i cant get the damn thing to clear... oh well... Its good for now...
LOL
I'll keep you all posted...
