Exclamation Problem with a/c in my 1996 Volvo 850 GLT

My 1996 Volvo 850 GLT, with*automatic dual climate control (ACC) system where there is a separate temp control for the driver and passenger, some weeks ago the
a/c cooling that worked great that was in COLD, suddenly started blowing warm air in the driver side, as hot as when the heater is on. *I moved many times cold-hot-cold the left control dial but situation is the same, and sometimes, when is in hot, blows warm instead of very hot.*

The passenger (right side) works perfectˇ. Goes from very cold to very hot depending of the right dial position.

This is my first used Volvo and according the Haynes Volvo 850 Repair Manual I believe that something is going bad with some Electronic Climate Control Damper Motor. Finally, this car hasn't the Diagnostic Test Unit to do the automatic self- adjustment in case of the replacement of the Damper Motor.

Help me please, as soon as all of you can do.

Welcome to the forum. I sounds like the ECC (ACC) is shot. But before you got ordering a new or used one, just check to make sure nothing on the back has come loose.

Thanks Andrew for your prompt help. Now I just remove the ECC and all cables and connectors are OK. I open the ECC to see if some component was fried but all the electronics looks good and clean (as is where new). Ofcourse that maybe some IC's could be bad. I re-installed all, but situation is the same.

Now I will see how I can find an spare ECC to confirm that this is the problem, before to buy an used or new, according your kind suggestion.

Had similar problem with my Linc LS, turned out to be the diverter door under the dash wasn't working, had a/c on 1 side ambient air on the other. Good luck. I have 2repair books on C70 will research.
