Problems with engine swap...
Alright I'm halfway through my engine swap on my 1995 Volvo 850 non-turbo...I bought a motor out of a '96 and everything looked like it was the same...well now that I have both motors setting right beside each other I noticed that some of the vacuum lines around the throttle body were different, upon further inspection I noticed a pretty big problem...the '96 motor does not have the EGR system on it!!! So my question is what all will I have to do to make this work? I'm hoping I won't have to swap everything over to the '96 motor...how will the car react if I just put the '96 motor in without EGR? I'm assuming it wouldn't work too well...this is a nightmare I was hoping to have this car done by the end of the weekend but I'm just not too sure anymore...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

96+ didn't come with EGR, only 94/95s did. Your car will still work, you'll just have a CEL for the missing EGR. If you want to to put an EGR on your 96 motor just swap the components of it from your 95.

But thanks for the heads up, I didn't know that the '96 and up didn't have EGR...lesson learned lol
Should have the motor set down in the car tomorrow and probably end up finishing it Sunday sometime...
You could just as easily removed the EGR entirely by using a 1k ohm 1/4watt resistor to trick your ecu into thinking it was still present.
There is also the option of using the 96 ECU (which might not allow jumper box to function though).
Good luck with the swap though and enjoy EGR :P

Well I finished it up a couple of hours ago...car runs and drives great...no CEL's or anything...EGR is functioning properly as well...I will take some pics and post them up later this week...thanks for the help guys.
