Default S60 hu-803 Swap problems

I had a 52 plate S60 2.0 T SE, with the hu-803 sound system.
I now have a 53 plate S60 D5 S with the Hu-603 system

I read up a bit and swapped the 803 into my D5, changing all speakers, amp and lead, AND also the AC control panel to keep the colour matched.

I have good sound as before but the following problems:

SRS airbag fault message on display (this may have happened when I accidentally turned on the ignition in mid installation?)

Rear demister light not on, can't see if it's working yet

STC button on, but won't turn off

Alarm button next to it on, but won't turn off

Audio controls on steering wheel not working

Does anyone have an idea what caused this and how to fix it. Everything else appears to work fine so far.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I think units are not upgradable, ecu won't accept as is part of some sending circuit or alike.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

SRS reset at the dealer.

The cause was swapping modules from one car to another. They are programmed to the car.

that is doable via programming.
DiCE is needed.

Any idea of costs?

Will the SRS still actually work?

Can you buy a different colour facia plate for the hu803?

Yup that is exactly what caused the problem. On S60's if you disconnect the radio or also the DIM the Dashboard Instrument Clusters tend to fail after so long as well and need repair. Same thing happens if it is removed/fails. Have had the SRS Airbag Service message on for nearly a year now. With my car making a business decision. Spending $120 to $150 for them to clear that is seems stupid. I have no idea if it means the airbags will fail if you are in a crash. I am not married and have no kids so I personally don't worry about it. The steel cage on a Volvo rather than these tin can cars from Asia and many Americans cars are the difference for me.

Its not the swap the caused the problem. Simply disconnecting the Stereo unit completely will trigger this. It is the same like I said before if you disconnect the Dashboard cluster or it begins to short out and fail. You get the same message.

If the stock radio/stereo system begins to fail it might happen as well. I have never heard anyone else report it though.

SRS will work ok after clearing the codes.
for CCM you can swap mainboards so no need to program it.

As for hu803 I think so. Try to find some at the junkyard.
Programming costs 50$ per unit.

when disconnecting the cluster, the DIM cannot receive messages from the srs module, therefore the SRS perceives it can't send messages if needed and put's a warning.

You can get married and have kids, it's safe

Yes, but a CCM from a different car will also set the SRS light.

Good luck finding a dealer to program it for $50. The software alone is probably around that much. Not to mention there is a chance it won't program.

Wrong. Everything will be fine. CAN network is not broken so it will work.

I can do that remotely.
The only I need is DiCE (clone or original).
Chance that It will work is almost 100% because I already did that.

I've seen people swap in used CCMs and have it happen, but okay.

And what program do you have that can program modules remotely? Sounds interesting.

Hmm, very interesting. Are you able to program other used modules? Do you sell the program?

Yes, but not everything so far. Work still in progress.
I can program DIM, ETM, ECM (not all years), DDM, PDM, CCM, TCM, BCM, REM, UEM,
PSM, ICM, DEM and CEM (If I know the pin). Most of them are for P2.
Also I can reprogram CEM for any configuration (I need CEM or pin for it).
I can reprogram P2 CEMs (2005+ without making it out and using solder).
So I can read original firmware and put it to the new(used) module.

So far not. It is not commercial ready.
I'm still working on it.

Very cool. I was always curious how companies like xemodex did it... I assume they havea similar program.
