problems starting. could be electrical problem
i have a 1994 volvo 850. a couple days ago i was driving, and i felt the car start to sputter. the RPMs started to fluctuate, and then it eventually stalled out. at first i thought it was the fuel pump. it seemed to be burning gas too rich at first. then i pulled the spark plugs out, cleaned them off, then tested them to see i was getting a spark or not. no spark from there, so i checked the distributer, that was also fine, but no spark. same went for the ignition coil. im running out of ideas at the moment. any input would help quite a bit.
Also check the voltage at the primary side of the coil if you are not getting any spark. If you have voltage going into the coil and still no spark, you have a bad coil
Well, coils don't go bad nearly as often as they used to, but if you have good voltage going in and no spark out you most likely have a bad coil. I hope it turns out to be a simple fix
yeah, me too. the thing that puzzles me is that after it broke, i went to autozone and asked them, and the guy there looked up the information about testing the ohms on the coil, and i checked it, and it seemed to be okay, so thats whats really got me confused right now, but i guess il try replacing the coil
The Cam sensor is on the back of the cylinder head on the exhaust cam. If it is OEM it looks like a black cap over an aluminum part.
There is 2 torxes screws that hold it onto the head. But locate it first then follow the wire over to like under the Dist. cap and see if the plug fell apart and the wires slide out.
The cam sensor controls spark and the injector pulse.

Its not under the cap. The plug for it us under the cap. The sensor itself is on the back of the other cam in the same spot as like the dist.

That is a cam sensor you should be able to find cheaper though.
