Default Purchasing a '94 850

Hello all, I'm purchasing a '94 850 today. Only 102,000 miles on the odometer. The car is in great condition with only a few small problems to work out before i take posession. I had been looking at a '94 Saab 900 with 130,000 miles but then I found this car and realized it's just a much better car. Very solid, absolutely no rust and hardly any scrapes or chips in the paint.

The small used car dealership here wanted 5,900 for it (which is fairly high) but I got them down to 4500. Of course I got screwed on my trade (2004 Mazda 3) but oh well....I need to get rid of it.

A few of the things they will be taking care of: Sunroof shade needs fabric, One of the windshield wipers doesn't work correctly, One of the headlight wipers is broken (he broke it when he showed me), Putting in a CD changer, installing car seat anchors.

I'm also going to ask him about the exhaust which to me sounds a little loud, however I'm not used to Volvos maybe this is normal? I will also ensure that all 100,000 mile maintenence has been done.

Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks a lot for the replies.

Make certain the timing belt was changed. It was due at 70k. Make sure the A/C blows cold because they have a problem with the evaporator and it's about $1,000 to fix. If it's not a Turbo, I would think that for $4500 the car should be in almost perfect condition. If it is a Turbo, it will be worth a little more. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Yes, the A/C blows cold. I will check on the timing belt. It's not a turbo. The car is in excellent condition.

Thank you for the tips.
